How To Download Torrent files using firefox

Now you can directly download torrent files inside your firefox browser. No need to install a special software just to download torrent files.
Unlike other web browsers firefox supports wide range of plugins. Which makes your life easier.Whenever I try to download torrent files it first downloads the torrent for the file then using any other software(utorrent, bittorrent, flashget etc.) it will download the actual files.

How to login in multiple accounts at the same time in Orkut, Facebook etc

Do you maintain multiple Google Accounts? Solve that headache of logging in and out different accounts in Firefox by this trick. I feel life can get complicated if you operate more than one Google Account and have associated different Google services with different accounts.

For example I have two Gmail ID’s .
One coolaery[at]gmail for my blog work and another mandloi.abhishek[at]gmail for personal use.I am a big fan of Firefox and each time I need to read mails,I am annoyed of logging in and out for different id’s.
Well this trick has done wonders for me, Hope it works for you to.
step 0 :
- Download Firefox for more efficiency(optional).
Step 1:
- Open system “properties”(by right clicking my computer).
- Choose tab “advanced”, click to “environment variables” button.
- In “system variables” section, click “new”.
- Type this information to each textbox.
Step 2:
variable name: moz_no_remote (should be all small letter).
variable value: 1
Step 3:
- Open firefox icon’s properties(from desktop and quick launch).
- Add extension -p to command line(like “c:program filesmozilla firefoxfirefox.exe” -p).
- Press ok.
When you will open firefox it will prompt for profile selection create a profile, open firefox login to orkut open once more use another profile login.

Create files and folders without any name

This trick will allow you to create files and folders without any name.
Just follow the following steps:

1. Select any file or folder.
2. Right click on it, press rename or simply press F2.
3. Press and hold the alt key. While holding the Alt key, type numbers 0160 from the numpad.

Note: Type the numbers 0160 from the numpad, that is, the numbers present on the right side of the keyboard. Don't type the numbers which are present on top of the character keys.

4. Press Enter and the nameless file or folder will be created.

Reason: The file or folder that seems nameless is actually named with a single space.

But what if you want to create another nameless file or folder in the same directory ?

For this you will have to rename the file with 2 spaces. Just follow these steps below:

1. Select file, press F2.
2. Hold alt key and type 0160 from the numpad.
3. Release the alt key. Now without doing anything else, again hold alt key and press 0160.
4. Press enter and you will have second nameless file in the same directory.
5. Repeat step 3 to create as many nameless files or folders in the same directory.

Create a Shutdown Timer

Auto shutdown computer using run command

Method to create a shutdown timer or simply computer shutdown shortcut
Step 1: Right click on your desktop and choose “New=>shortcuts”.
Step 2: In the box that says “Type the location of the shortcut”,
type in “shutdown -s -t 3600” without the quotation marks and click next.
Note: 3600 are the amount of seconds before your computer shuts down. So , this means 3600 seconds = 60 mints (1 hour). You can change the value in the above code. You can even create multiple shutdown shortcuts. For example a computer shutdown shortcut for 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 5 hours etc.,
Step 3: Make up a name for the shortcut and you’re done.

To abort or cancel the shutdown:
To make an abort key to stop the shutdown timer just create another shortcut and make
the “location of the shortcut” to ” shutdown -a” without the quotes.

Create your own run commands!!!!

Create your own run commands!!!!

The Run command on Microsoft Windows operating system allows you to directly open an application or document with just a single command instead of navigating to it’s location and double-clicking the executable icon. However, it only works for some of the inbuilt Windows programs such as Command prompt (cmd), Calculator (calc) etc. So, have you ever wondered how to create your own customized Run commands for accessing your favorite programs, files and folders? Well, read on to find out the answer.

CREATING THE CUSTOMIZED RUN COMMAND

Let me take up an example of how to create a customized run command for opening the Internet explorer. Once you create this command, you should be able to open the Internet explorer just by typing “ie” (without quotes) in the Run dialog box. Here is how you can do that.
1. Right click on your Desktop and select New -> Shortcut.
2. You will see a “Create Shortcut” Dialog box as shown below

3. Click on “Browse”, navigate to: Program Files -> Internet Explorer from your Root drive (usually C:\) and select “iexplore” as shown in the above figure and click on “OK”.
4. Now click on “Next” and type any name for your shortcut. You can choose any name as per your choice; this will be your customized “Run command”. In this case I name my shortcut as “ie”. Click on “Finish”.
5. You will see a shortcut named “ie” on your desktop. All you need to do is just copy this shortcut and paste it in your Windows folder (usually “C:/Windows”). Once you have copied the shortcut onto your Windows folder, you can delete the one on your Desktop.
6. That’s it! From now on, just open the Run dialog box, type ie and hit Enter to open the Internet Explorer.
In this way you can create customized Run commands for any program of your choice. Say “ff” for Firefox, “ym” for Yahoo messenger, “wmp” for Windows media player and so on.
To do this, when you click on “Browse” in the Step-3, just select the target program’s main executable (.exe) file which will usually be located in the C:\Program Files folder. Give a simple and short name for this shortcut as per your choice and copy the shortcut file onto the Windows folder as usual. Now just type this short name in the Run dialog box to open the program.
